Liposculpture literally means to use an artistic eye for beauty to create aesthetically pleasing lines where there were none before. Dr. Sanders has the rare combination of surgical expertise and artistic expression. He uses micro-liposuction techniques to actually sculpt a neck or jawline from an excess of fatty tissue. This procedure is sometimes combined with a muscle tightening in the neck known as a "platysmaplasty". This will allow Dr. Sanders to maximize the amount of fatty tissue to be removed from the neck and jawline.

Liposculpture can also be performed to reduce cheek and jowl size in the lower face. This can sometimes be done in a younger person when a lower facelift is not quite needed. The skin will contract and tighten some in response to the liposculpture which will give a lifting effect on its own.
