A: Plastic surgery can dramatically enhance your appearance and your self-confidence. If you consider yourself to be a physically and emotionally healthy person and have realistic expectations from the procedure, you should be a good candidate.

Q: What will happen during the initial consultation?
A: In your private consultation, you will meet with Dr. Knight or Dr. Sanders so you can explain your interests, concerns, and ask a variety of questions. They will review your medical history and ask you questions in order to understand your condition, goals and concerns. The doctors will also provide you with reading material about the procedure(s) you're considering. The initial consultation will include a nominal fee which is refunded at the time of surgery scheduling. It will last approximately 30-60 minutes depending on what is discussed. A cost analysis is also provided for any procedures you are interested in.

Q: What is the recovery like from a Plastic Surgery procedure?

Q: Do I need antibiotics before and after surgery? A: Antibiotics should probably be used when a patient undergoes any procedure in which "bacteria" may be released into the blood stream. The preoperative and postoperative care will be discussed in detail and written instructions are provided with the operative packet you will receive at the preoperative visit. Q: Will my insurance cover my cosmetic surgery? A: Generally speaking, NO it will not. Cosmetic surgery is considered "elective surgery" and is not covered by most insurance plans. However, sometimes certain procedures are performed to improve function rather than appearance. For eyelid surgery to correct drooping eyelids, which cause impaired vision. If this is the case, contact your insurance company before surgery to determine if it is covered. Q: Where will my surgery be perfomed? A: Your surgery will likely be performed at our fully accredited surgery center. Q: Will I have to stay in the hospital after surgery? A: Almost always--no. Most of our patients are able to go home the same day of surgery. If you are from out of town there is a hotel just across the street from the surgery center. We have set up special rates with them.
